Advocacy

NICE provides resources, venues, and services that will help individuals and families find the best epilepsy care. By leveraging the Northwell Health network, we will also advocate for expert care in communities where it hasn’t previously been available.

NICE advocacy priorities include:

• Advocating for access to health care that is affordable, physician-directed and personalized;
• Working with our patients and our medical system to end epilepsy-related discrimination and protect the rights of people with disabilities;
• Promoting biomedical research and the development of new therapies to gain a better understanding of causes, consequences, and outcomes, and, ultimately, cures for all the epilepsies.
• Promoting public health, education and awareness about the epilepsies;
